Hello to all my dear friends in a very hot Summer day!:icontruesmiles:

Today I present you the  Winners of "Legends, Myths, and Fairy Tales"Contest organized by talented Brendan :iconpoetrymann:
I have the pleasure to start this presentation with the beautiful Brendan's poetry "Girl as Color" Girl as ColorColor the girl shell pink
or magnolia -
some rare vintage of wine
or a bright Italian circus,
and I shall call her mine.
Color her starling grey
or a sudden shade
of window,
daylight glistening like a puzzle
and I will claim her mouth.
Paint us both some new corner
or furniture,
a fresh tone of orchestra
and ripened lemons,
and I swear I will be true.

Beings came and went, yet lived not, and nothing was anything, for names could not stick to the fabric of history. At first, all who existed were content with the transient nature of their lives, but soon there came a time when the desire to remain, to endure, burned bright within the hearts of all creatures. While they lived their temporary lives and searched for a way to weave them permanently into the tapestry of the world, the gods and goddesses responsible for that world watched them closely. Closely, that is, unless necessity turned their focus to each other.
"You are certain of this?" Ra clicked his beak in agitation, and he gripped the arms of his throne to keep from raking his fingers through his plumage. He fixed his golden eyes on the dark muzzle of his messenger.
"I am," came the curt reply of Anubis. His voice never wavered, but the way his ears lay flat against his narrow skull betrayed his unease. Ra made note of it with

What's happening?
How was your day?

And they're friends to the end
Of the battery life;
They'd even make it work with
A virus.
I love you
I'm here for you.
You can trust me.

I miss you.
I think of you.
You're just the best.

Then sleep mode arrives
And real life wakes up

Dreaming of real arms to
Hold her.
Stuck in Your ShoesI don't want to understand you.
I want to scream and call you a bastard. Your reasons will fall on deaf ears because you are a liar and don't deserve to have a say. I want to feel a fury I can't control, question if so much anger is healthy for me as the hatred wraps around me and makes me its prisoner. If you called me irrational I would make it a national holiday. I want to be sick of seeing the world through your eyes and trade your perspective for a blindfold. I need something pure, I need something strong enough to burn the shadows that have settled inside me and won't go away. I need violence and rage, need to raise my voice and stomp my feet and get you to call me a child. Let me be stupid. Let me lose my mind. I have to feel something other than this I have to feel something other than this I have to feel something

SicknessIt's a poison that refuses to be purged from the body, perhaps because it infects not so much the body, but the soul. It festers beneath the surface like a deep wound without hope of healing.  Your mind shies away from it, so at a loss is it as to how to make such an unpredictable presence adhere to the laws of logic. Thus the deceitful predator is free to run rampant, gnawing at your independence and using the splintered remains of your painstakingly-constructed control to pick its teeth. It hooks its claws into the walls surrounding your darkest secrets and pulls them apart stone by sacred stone. All the while you sit idly, somehow still clinging to the hope that any day now, it will turn around and be the warm, furry, comforting Labrador you thought it was when you let it in the first time it showed up uninvited. You know it will eventually give you everything it promised it would when it whispered through the cracks in your heart that it needed a place to stay and grow. S Oh So Blue by eloquensartifex Frilly Flowers by eloquensartifex Beautiful YouPlease,
Please don't measure yourself
By what others fail to see
Those who let you go just don't
Deserve you
So
Smile
Though the world tries every day
To teach you such an action
Is a luxury reserved
For cruel lips.
And
You,
You are worth so much more
Than what you have learned to be
You are more than all that they
Have made you
So
Shine
Though the darkness does its best
To strangle every yearning
That pushes at the boundaries
Of your soul.
And
Yes,
Yes this life brings you pain
But I promise that the key
To better things lies within
Amazing
Wonderful

You.

Library Heaven by eloquensartifex Welcome to the ClubCome join us, dear forgotten one,
Here, where we know how you feel.
So easily banished, were you not?
So easily cast aside.
It happened to all of us, poor soul:
We who let go and loved
Were shown we were not worth the time
Once someone better came along.
They will still need us, now and then,
And we will gladly be used
For our happiness still depends on theirs
And, oh, how they know it.
So, come, and let us remember
How we all once called them ours,
How it felt to know they loved us—
How it felt to learn we were wrong.
The good times and the bad times
Will be equally preserved.
We will not forget as they have
...Or they never happened at all.

GravityGravity
________________
I'm not the kind of guy, you see,
To have great faith in gravity.
I'm not sure I can understand,
The common sense of the land.
I am not the type, you know,
To walk where others always go.
How do I break the rule,
When I don't believe in it, too?
I don't know it.
I can't see it.
How can I break it,
When I don't get it?
The common word is all around
But it's not enough to keep me on the ground.
I don't know how I am today,
But then I never felt it, anyway.
I'll just sing this song.
And you can leave me alone…
Because I've shifted,
In and out.
I've turned myself,
All about.
I don't know what I'm gonna say,
But I'm gonna say it anyway.
Maybe you can understand,
But I'd rather stay in my wonderland.
I'd rather put my faith in me,
Than subject myself to gravity.
I'd like the sun to travel East,
So the whole world won't have to weep.
I'd just like to be left alone,
You can go open those doors on your own.
I'd like to pass the speed of light,
Just so I can get away fro
Lost OrchestraLost Orchestra
Here I stand
On a stage, in a world
In a familiar land so unusual
Where all I see are empty stands…
The world sleeps
As my tears are unfurled
In my hand lies the image of my long lost goal
She left me for another beat…
Let the piano resound
In a heartbreaking sound
Let the music play forever,
Let it hide my frown
Let the people sleep
And never know I weep
Bring the melody together
So we can raise the beat
Hide their eyes from the sight
So I won't affect their love
Let music flow so they will never know
Of my sad orchestra
Who would think
In a world of such love
That someone such as I, filled with so much despair
Could put their hopes upon a wing?
So I lead
I'll help them find their dove
Let the music bring happiness to hide my tears
So my face they will never read.
Let the chimes ring loud
Just to hide my cloud
May the beat fly ahead
With glorious sound
Let me watch her sing
And ignore her ring
Forget all that was said
When he became her king
Hide their eyes from the sig
Love's ConcertLove's Concert
**********
There is one person who has blessed my soul.
One pair of eyes that can melt my mind.
She's an angel from Heaven...
A goddess from my dreams…
And now she's singing to thee…
Should I believe in that which is lost,
Whenever I remember the pain that love cost?
And yet as I shake the fear in my mind,
How can I deny that look in her eyes…?
The piano flows an unfortunate tune
To remind me of what I lost, so soon.
And yet…
Here am I again,
Playing a tune again,
Doing what I never thought I would do again,
I think it's time to return!
To start a new concert.
And as I raise my hands up to the sky,
I spy her face and wonder why.
My new angel of music…
Different from the other…
I think that I'm being absurd…
I see that other face fading fast.
A new one has arrived to rejuvenate me!
But how dare I believe in that small thing,
How can I try once more to be in love?
And yet as the violins start to sing,
I realize what is happening to me.
And so…
Here I am again,
Let's strike
The ReturnerThe two boys cowered behind the hill, not daring to even peek over the crest. The sheep had long fled from the fiery star that had crashed down upon the island, but the boys were too petrified even to follow their simple example. The thing had been louder than a horde of barking sea dogs, and the explosion of its catastrophic landing had been nothing like anything the Shaman had ever produced. And of course the flaming doom from Heaven had landed right on the land-bridge that separated the boys from the rest of the island.
For some time the boys lay there, waiting for something to happen. Perhaps something would come out, or maybe the villagers would come investigate and save them. For hours they lay, first terrified, then anxious, and finally bored. Night was beginning to fall, and the anticlimactic monotony was awakening a sense of bravery – or perhaps foolishness – in the lads. At last they could take it no longer; they peered over the hill.
The falling star had left a lar
The Warlord's ShadowIn the world of man – that ever-shifting place where air and light and strange corporeal things existed – the sun had set hours ago. The room was dark and silent, as was the one who watched it, patiently awaiting something. Or, rather, someone.
Footsteps could be heard in the stone halls. A light crept in beneath the door, which at last opened wide. Into the black room stepped a woman. She was tall and blonde… and, in one man's eager eye, beautiful. She wore thick leather armor, and a tall axe hung by a strap from her back. She had a pretty face, though it was tense and glaring as she scoured the room by torchlight. At last satisfied that she was alone, she entered the room and closed the door. She set her torch to a candle on a table, then tossed it unceremoniously into a large fireplace that had been just barely visible in the darkness.
The woman walked about the room, her steps hard and her eyes sharp but weary, and lit a few more candles before pulling off her thick

Desperate SymphonyDesperate Symphony
Look at these hands.
Aren't they soft?
They weren't meant for labor,
Or for fighting others off.
Yet they fight desperate enough,
Fighting against this love…
Play the flutes…
Very softly.
They'll let the world know what's going on
In this crippled heart of mine.
Because I need help.
I can't play this tune alone.
See I can't win.
I just can't fight.
It appears I've lost again,
But still she has left my sight.
What can I do now that she's gone,
To live when she's my sun?
Strike the drums…
Beat them fast.
The audience knows I'm panicking.
They fear for my godless mind,
Because I am lost.
I can't run this symphony alone.
I'm obsessed,
It's obvious,
Especially now you've left.
I suppose I'm just not tough,
I don't have the power of mind.
I thought that I could survive.
Play the trumpets…
High and low.
What should I care about the tune, now?
Love is gone, my mind's crazy.
Because I'm gone,
I can't stay alone.
What did I do
To deserve this?
How could you expect me to

Sweet Water Pt. IDuran walks past a cave, pauses, steps back and looks up. Baker is standing at the entrance, staring quietly into the cave. Wondering what Baker's staring at, Duran walks up beside him.
Duran: Hey, something in there?
Baker jumps and gives him a surprised look.
Baker (whispering): Man, don't do that! What if I had shouted or something?
Duran (dully): Baker, why are you whispering?
Baker (still whispering): Ssshhh! You want to be heard?
Duran stares at Baker in confusion, then peers into the cave. It's black, moist, and decidedly dull. Very cave-like.
Duran: Sigh… be heard by WHAT? It's a cave.
Baker (whispering still): Would you please keep your voice down? I'm trying to prove a point here.
Duran (tired): Baker… why aren't you out on patrol?
Baker (still more whispering): Well I can't just leave this alone, can I?
Duran (shouting): Leave WHAT alone? It's a cave!
Echo: Leave WHAT alone? It's a cave!
Baker: You see, the voice! He won't come out and he's not
